Midland Bank PLC and Milvik Bangladesh Limited, a Swedish HealthTech firm, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 7, 2025, at the bank’s Head Office to enhance healthcare access and delivery in underserved communities.
The partnership aims to leverage digital technology and financial inclusion initiatives to improve healthcare services in both urban and rural areas. Through this collaboration, Midland Bank’s financial services expertise will complement Milvik Bangladesh’s telemedicine and digital health solutions, including mobile health applications, health monitoring, and digital health records.
The MoU sets out objectives such as subscription collection via Midland Bank’s Agent Banking, API integration for App-in-App services, special discounts for bank cardholders, health insurance packages linked with the bank’s payroll offerings, and health campaigns for corporate clients.
Mohd. Javed Tarek Khan, SEVP & Head of Institutional Banking at Midland Bank, and Shihab Uddin Chowdhury, Country Manager of Milvik Bangladesh, signed the MoU on behalf of their organizations. Senior officials from both sides, including heads of divisions from Midland Bank and Milvik, attended the signing ceremony.
The initiative is expected to improve healthcare access for individuals who are geographically distant or unable to reach traditional medical facilities, bringing sustainable, technology-driven healthcare solutions to a wider population.
