Prime Bank PLC, in partnership with Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) and its Career Club, has hosted a seminar titled “Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking” at the university campus.
Organised under PrimeAcademia—Prime Bank’s flagship campus initiative offering one-stop banking services for academic institutions—the event brought together over 200 students to foster financial literacy, responsible money management, and awareness of career opportunities in banking and finance.
Md. Iqbal Mohsin, Director of the Financial Inclusion Department at Bangladesh Bank, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the role of financial literacy in youth empowerment and national development in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A highlight of the seminar was the launch of the Prime Youth Account, a student-focused banking product aimed at encouraging early financial responsibility. Participants were able to open accounts on-site, experiencing digital and modern banking services firsthand.
JUST Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Mazid attended as the chief guest, joined by Prime Bank officials including Shaila Abedin, SEVP and Head of Liability, and M M Mahbub Hasan, SVP and Head of Financial Inclusion and School Banking. Dr Rafiul Hasan, Director of JUST’s Office of Student Counselling and Guidance, inaugurated the programme.
Speakers reaffirmed Prime Bank’s commitment to inclusive growth through innovative, youth-oriented financial solutions. Both institutions expressed interest in expanding collaboration through student-focused initiatives, research projects, and skill development programmes.
