Rupali Bank PLC has opened its 587th branch at Baligaon in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj, marking another step toward bringing modern banking services closer to people at the grassroots. The branch was inaugurated on Monday (08.12.2025) as part of the bank’s drive to expand financial inclusion during the month of Victory.
Managing Director Kazi Md Wahidul Islam inaugurated the new branch as chief guest. He urged employees to serve customers with professionalism and dedication, calling on them to act as “true service providers” for the community. He also encouraged customers to use the bank’s mobile financial services platform, RupaliCash, along with its digital applications to access faster and safer banking.
The event was attended by the bank’s General Manager from the head office, Md Ismail Hossain Sheikh, as special guest. The programme was chaired by Sheikh Munjur Karim, General Manager of Rupali Bank’s Dhaka North divisional office.
Narayanganj Zonal Manager Md Sakhawat Hossain conducted the ceremony, which was also joined by Baligaon Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Kader Mallik, local businessman Md Anwar Hossain, and Baligaon Union BNP President Abu Sayed Bhuiyan.
Officials from the newly opened branch, senior executives of Rupali Bank, local business leaders, professionals, and residents from various walks of life were also present.
Speakers at the event said the new branch will allow local communities to access faster, safer, and more modern banking services, contributing to stronger economic activity in the area.
