Stocks opened the week’s second session on a strong note, with heavy buying pushing key indices sharply higher in early trading on Monday.
The benchmark DSEX of the Dhaka Stock Exchange climbed 61 points in the first half of the session, signalling renewed investor interest after recent cautious movements.
The Shariah-based DSES index added 7 points, while the blue-chip DS30 index advanced 23 points, reflecting gains across large-cap and broader market segments.
Market breadth remained firmly positive. Of the issues traded, 343 advanced, 21 declined and 24 remained unchanged, indicating widespread price appreciation.
Turnover at the DSE reached Tk 3.60 billion in the first half, pointing to stronger participation from investors.
A similar upbeat trend was seen at the Chittagong Stock Exchange. The CASPI index rose 106 points during the same period.
Out of the traded issues at the port city bourse, 66 gained, 25 fell and 20 remained unchanged. Turnover there stood at Tk 80 million in the first half of the session.
