In a move aimed at accelerating financial inclusion and promoting a cashless economy, Trust Bank PLC and bKash Limited have signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly introduce a range of new digital financial services. The initiative is expected to make banking and transaction facilities more accessible, convenient, and efficient for millions of customers across Bangladesh.

New Services for Customers

Under the agreement, customers will be able to open weekly and monthly Deposit Pension Schemes (DPS) with Trust Bank directly from the bKash app—bringing long-term savings opportunities within reach of over 80 million bKash users.

The partnership also extends to:

  • Enhanced bank-to-bKash and bKash-to-bank fund transfers
  • Direct payment facility from Trust Bank accounts via the bKash app at more than one million merchant points nationwide
  • 24/7 automated cash management support for over 350,000 bKash agents and distributors across the country

These new features aim to provide smoother integration between mobile financial services and traditional banking, thereby reducing dependency on cash transactions and promoting digital adoption in everyday financial activities.

Signing Ceremony

The agreement was formalized at a city hotel in Dhaka in the presence of Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO of Trust Bank, and Kamal Quadir, Founder and CEO of bKash. The document was exchanged between Brig Gen Md Mamun or Rashid (Retd), Head of General Service and Security Division of Trust Bank, and Ali Ahmmed, Chief Commercial Officer of bKash.

Existing Collaboration Strengthened

Trust Bank and bKash have already been working together to provide several joint services such as the Trust Cum Settlement Account, Add Money, Transfer Money, and Remittance Settlement. With the latest expansion, the partnership is set to deliver more integrated solutions tailored to customer needs, aligning with Bangladesh’s broader digital transformation goals.

Leaders’ Remarks
