Walton has celebrated a rare run of corporate recognitions, securing the ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence for the fifth consecutive year and the ICMAB Best Corporate Award for the fourth year in a row.
The company marked the milestone at a ceremony titled Celebrating Corporate Award Achievements at its corporate office in Bashundhara on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, a Bangladesh Bank deputy governor praised Walton’s performance, saying the company has moved ahead of many global brands in product quality, use of advanced technology and competitive pricing. He noted that Walton’s growth has helped reduce import dependence and boosted foreign currency earnings through exports, adding that the firm is well-positioned to expand globally with AI- and IoT-based products.
The chairman of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh said Walton has transformed Bangladesh’s electronics market, which was once dominated by foreign brands. He pointed to the company’s large-scale manufacturing capacity, disciplined management and sustained investment, calling Walton a strong example of Bangladesh’s ability to produce high-tech goods. He also urged policy support and tax incentives for fundamentally strong local companies to accelerate economic growth.
Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s managing director said the company follows strict compliance across manufacturing, workplace safety, financial reporting, tax payments and corporate governance. He added that Walton’s governance practices have earned regional recognition, including a SAFA Gold Award.
He also highlighted Walton’s sustainability initiatives, noting that its Mold & Die Factory Complex has achieved LEED Platinum Certification for environmentally friendly operations. The company has also received the Excellence in Investment Award 2025 and the SDG Brand Champion Award 2025 for its clean-energy efforts.
According to him, Walton has installed the country’s largest floating solar power project at its factory site and is setting up Bangladesh’s first lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant using modern green technology. Once operational, the facility is expected to significantly reduce reliance on imported batteries.
In his closing remarks, the company’s vice-chairman said Walton has built its growth on strict compliance and transparency, which has consistently earned it top corporate awards from professional bodies.
