On the death of Begum Khaleda Zia, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), the great and illustrious woman of all time, the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh, the Mother of Democracy, a successful former Prime Minister three times, and an uncompromising national leader, the Sonali Bank Employees Association (CBA), Reg. No. B-664, on behalf of its Central Committee and Management, organized a Qur’an Khatam, Milad and Doa Mahfil seeking forgiveness for the departed soul on Sunday, 04/01/2026, after Zuhr prayers at the mosque on the 8th floor of the Sonali Bank Building.At the said prayer program, at the invitation of the Honorable Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sonali Bank, the MD & CEO, and the President of the CBA, Joint General Secretary of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal Central Executive Committee Md. Mostafizul Karim Majumdar and Co-Organizing & Publication Editor Mofidul Islam Mohon, along with executives/officers of Sonali Bank at all levels, the CBA President Mr. Md. Zakir Hossain, General Secretary Mahbub Hossain, central leaders, and bank employees of all levels were present.At the doa program, the President of the CBA, Mr. Md. Zakir Hossain, highlighted the eventful life of the departed. He said, “With the death of our mother (the late Begum Khaleda Zia), the entire nation is mourning today. We have lost a guardian of the state. This loss is irreparable. May Almighty Allah grant our mother the highest rank in Jannat and grant the bereaved family, the party, and the state the strength to bear patience in this irreparable loss.”In his speech, the MD & CEO of Sonali Bank said that the nation has lost a proud mother. By losing our mother, the nation is today in deep crisis. To overcome this crisis, may Almighty Allah give the opportunity to the great political leader Mr. Tarique Rahman to serve the country and the nation. The Honorable Chairman of the Board of Directors said that the nation is going through a deep crisis today. To overcome this crisis, a prudent political figure like Mr. Tarique Rahman is especially needed by the nation, particularly to strengthen the country’s economic foundation. The Sonali Bank authority and the CBA, as complementary to each other, earnestly seek everyone’s cooperation to move the bank forward.
