Shahjalal Islami Bank organizes tree plantation drive in Jashore

Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC continued its annual corporate social responsibility initiative with a tree plantation program on September 4, 2025, at Bagharpara Pilot Girls’ High School in Jashore, aimed at protecting the environment and promoting a greener Bangladesh.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Bagharpara Upazila, Mahir Dayan Amin, attended as the chief guest. The event was organized jointly by the Jashore, Khulna, and Chuknagar branches of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, under the supervision of Bilal Hossain, President of the school’s Managing Committee.

Speakers highlighted the importance of nationwide tree plantation initiatives for environmental preservation. About 300 saplings, including fruit, forest, and medicinal trees, were planted on the school premises and distributed among students.

The program was attended by notable figures including Tanvirul Islam Sohan, Secretary of Jashore Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Abdul Hai Mona, former Mayor of Bagharpara Municipality; A. B. M. Ahsanul Kabir, Manager of Shahjalal Islami Bank’s Jashore Branch; Md. Zahidul Islam, Headmaster of the school; and Iqbal Kabir, journalist and president of Jashore Press Club. Other prominent guests included businessman Abu Musa, Baharul Islam, school management committee members, guardians, and teachers.
